Neeraj Chopra is from Khandra Village of Panipat in Haryana. Yes,
this is Neeraj Chopra who set the world record in the Under-20 Championship in
2016 and thereafter appeared in the Asian Games in 2018 on behalf of India. He
has already scored Gold Medals at the 2018 Asian Games and 2020 Olympics. Born
in 1997, he is the youngest-ever Gold Medallist.
Journey of Sports of Neeraj Chopra:
His first coach was Sh. Jaiveer for a year and thereafter he joined the coaching of Sh. Naseem Ahmad in Panchkula, Haryana for long-distance running along with the Javelin Throw. His habit of noting down tips in Notebook and using the tips again and again to sharpen his skills worked every time to make him score better.
Neeraj Chopra in early years
At the
junior level, Neeraj Chopra won a medal in 2012 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Thereafter
he won Gold Medal in South Asian Games in 2016, then another Gold Medal in IAAF
World U20 Championships in Poland. In 2017, He again won Gold Medal in Asian
Athletics Championships in Odisha, India. In 2018, he broke the national record
at Doha Diamond League. As Track and Field Athlete, he is now India’s highest
sports award winner.
Recently performance of Neeraj Chopra
He has also been coached by Gary Calvert, Werner Daniels, Uwe Hohn. He learned and sharpen his skills constantly. His graph of scoring for India is increasing and it is good for India, that he brought Gold Medal in Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
